Freehand MX not working in Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.2!
I checked all over the web and somehow feel I’m the only one whose facing this problem. This is what’s happening my end:
I click on the icon, the icon bounces for about 20 times and the Freehand menu bar appears and right when it says “Opening Panels” in the loading splash screen, I receive “The Application quit unexpectedly”
I have done the following steps:
- Uninstalled/deleted the application and whatever associated files were in Library/Cache/Preferences
- Restarted the machine
- Re-Installed the software, interestingly I was not asked for the Serial
- Same error happens at the same exact point
Then I went ahead and installed the application in another Macbook, which previosuly never had Freehand installed in it. It is also updated to 10.5.2 and I faced the same error.
Alas! I’m unable to use freehand on Mac, had to resort to use it on a Windows box to get the work done. If anyone has a clue to what could be the error and know how to resolve it, please help me.

10.5.3 has not resolved this issue for me. Freehand MX installed fine and launched out and allowed me to install sn but a few launches later same problem as above
any idea?

I have had the same issue with 10.5.2 and now with 10.5.3 on my MBP. I have trashed it and reloaded it with no success. bummer.
My imac is still running 10.4.11 and freehand works on it just fine. if you find out any answers please pass them along. thanks.

Yes, adobe is trying to make everyone shift to the unintuitive illustrator. Freehand has always been the best in this field. I wonder if anyone will ever beat freehand 3.0 though, for me this was at its best. I am not an illustrator but a graphic designer and the limited tool set and options made this a perfect tool. Pity that they put loads and loads of shit in software for no apparent reason. I am struggling to use illustrator, pity it doesn’t share the same interface as indesign which beats quark hands down.

Oh yes couldn’t agree more. You’ll never get freehand working in leopard and adobe doesn’t give a fuck. I am searching for an alternative and i’ll let you knwo if their is one.

Hi Charlie,
I am about to instal Leopard Mac OSX 10.5.4 into my MacBook Pro running on Mac OSX 10.4.11. My main concern is, will it work with Freehand version 10CT traditional chinese edition. From what you mentioned, you have no problem at all running Freehand ver 10, any problem printing to pdf?
Thanks
Jack
